David was 23 years old when he co-founded AnchorFree, with a belief that all users should be in control on the web. Passionate about enabling open communication, social business, and changing the world, David set on a mission to build a global movement to enable secure browsing, online privacy, and internet freedom for an addressable market of 1.6 billion Internet users. David has grown AnchorFree to a global player that impacts millions of users daily. David was named among the top CEO’s under 30 years old by Inc Magazine, CEOUnder30.com, FastCompany, Red Herring, and other publications. David also runs a blog on Forbes.com, where he shares his passions about technology, innovations, and new ideas. David has raised two venture rounds for AnchorFree and has grown the Company to profitability. David also served on the Technology Advisory Council to Gavin Newsom, the former mayor of San Francisco. Prior to starting AnchorFree, David co-founded Intelligent Buying Inc., a profitable IT asset management firm. While still a student at San Jose State School of Business, David worked full time as a Business Strategy Analyst at Remedy Corporation. At AnchorFree David has authored 25 US patents.
Eugene runs AnchorFree’s global data center operations and works on new product innovations. Scaling AnchorFree’s infrastructure across continents, Eugene is passionate about enabling AnchorFree’s services to be available to every user on the planet. Eugene co-founded AnchorFree with a passion for Internet privacy and freedom. Eugene and David have been friends since they were 13 years old and at 21 co-founded their first company, Intelligent Buying Inc, together. Eugene has been an engineer since he was 15 years old. Eugene’s prior experience includes technical roles at SimilTrans, WebEver, and Data Management Systems. Eugene brings to AnchorFree years of experience in data networking, infrastructure scalability and a great passion for start-ups. Prior to starting AnchorFree, Eugene was a student at the University of San Francisco.
Baglan Rhymes has been instrumental in building, shaping, and branding some of the hottest technology start-ups in Silicon Valley and she is a thought leader on the topics of entrepreneurship and innovation in technology and digital media with an emphasis on digital advertising and monetization strategy. As the Chief Digital Officer of AnchorFree, Ms. Rhymes created the global revenue, sales, and business development strategies to help propel the company from a start-up to the world’s largest consumer VPN. Previously, as Vice President, Media for global online advertising agency LSF Interactive, Ms. Rhymes created the company’s inaugural online media strategy and built departments focused on digital strategy, online sales, media planning, and buying and she developed advertising campaigns for top luxury, fashion, lifestyle, media, and technology brands including Lancome and Gucci companies. Baglan Rhymes has recently co-authored and published her first book named “Of Love, Autonomy & Wealth” and listed as the “Top 30 Most Influential Turkish Women in USA”. Ms Rhymes holds M.S in Economics from Dokuz Eylul University and TSP/PSP degrees from Carnegie Mellon.
Craig is a serial entrepreneur. Over his career, he has earned $985M in new investment for 16 projects (including two PE/VC funds) in seven different countries. Craig has led companies in London, Tokyo, Taipei, Maharashtra India, Northern California and Vancouver BC. Craig formerly served as the COO of Nextel International, CEO of Sirenic Inc., and the CEO of Varatouch acquired by Atrua. Most recently Craig served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Immersion Corporation.
Eugene brings to AnchorFree a proven record of developing patented and patent-pending solutions for innovative user-interface algorithms and data mining technologies. Prior to joining AnchorFree, Eugene developed patented technologies for his own company, ViewSpace Technologies. Prior to ViewSpace, Eugene was Chief Architect at Trident Microsystems and Chief Software Architect at SEI. He was also one of the first employees at Nvidia Corporation, where he filed its first patents and created the company’s first public demos. Eugene’s patented, 3D graphics accelerator algorithms have been incorporated in millions of products sold worldwide. Eugene came to the United States from Russia, where he had developed the country’s first silicon-on-sapphire integrated circuits. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and the Physics of Semiconductors.
Michael wanted to be an astronaut when he was growing up. He even went to Georgia Tech university for aerospace engineering. He will one day achieve that goal. In the meantime, he has learned the consumer internet industry from the ground up while helping build badoo.com in Moscow and then set up the London office, constructing Badoo piece by piece scaling from 0 to 70 million users. He continued on to lead several more large global tech projects and mentors many startups globally. He now ensures that all the talented teams at AnchorFree work effectively to achieve the company’s mission of providing a secure uncensored internet to a billion people. MG believes the internet's ability to distribute knowledge and real power can drastically improve people's lives and works every day to make this happen.

Russell Cleveland, CFA, is the Founder, President, and CEO of RENN Capital Group, Inc. ("RENN"), and RENN Global Entrepreneurs Fund, Inc. Russell has more than 45 years experience in the investment business, of which 34 years has been spent as a portfolio manager specializing in the investment of common stocks and convertibles of small private and publicly traded companies. A graduate of the Wharton School of Business, Mr. Cleveland has served as President of the Dallas Association of Investment Analysts and during the course of his career has served on numerous boards of directors of public and private companies. Mr. Cleveland currently serves on the Boards of Directors of RENN Global, RUSGIT, CaminoSoft Corp., Cover-All Technologies, Inc., Integrated Security Systems, Inc., and Access Plans, Inc.
Bert previously served as the CEO and Chairman of MCI and on the Board of Directors of numerous global companies such as News Corporation and Telefonica. Bert is a 30-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, and played a key role in transforming MCI Communications Corporation from a start-up long distance company to a $20 billion leader in global communications.
Reed E. Hundt was chairman of the United States Federal Communications Commission from 1993 to 1997. Appointed by President Bill Clinton, he served for most of Clinton's first term. Hundt is the CEO of the Coalition for Green Capital and a senior advisor to GTCR, a private equity firm. He is on the board of a number of technology companies, including Intel Corp., and is on the advisory boards of the Yale School of Management and the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority of Connecticut and AnchorFree.
Doug Maine served as the Chief Financial Officer of IBM and before that as the Chief Financial Officer of MCI. At IBM he became founding general manager of IBM.com in 2000, and general manager of the consumer products industry division in 2003 and retired in 2005. He is currently a Limited Partner with the Wall Street firm of Brown Brothers Harriman and serves on the board of directors of three public and three private companies including software companies BroadSoft and Telarix.
Esther is considered an expert globally on emerging digital technology, she serves on the boards of global media companies such as WPP and Yandex. Esther sold EDventure Holdings to CNET Networks in 2004, and is a member of the board for The Long Now Foundation, trustee for the Santa Fe Institute, the Advisory Board of the Stockholm Challenge Award and is a part-owner of the First Monday journal.
Rick Roth is founder and CEO of Roth Partners, a brand consultancy and communications firm based in New York City. Prior to Roth Partners, Rick spent years with Ogilvy & Mather, from account executive to worldwide managing director, member of the worldwide board, president of Ogilvy Los Angeles and global CEO of Ogilvy Action. He sits on the boards of AnchorFree and Vertical Acuity and advises other early-stage digital and media firms. He serves on a number of industry advisory boards, is actively involved in community volunteer programs, and serves on the steering committees of the Ithaca College Business School and Park School of Communication. Rick is a longtime resident of New York and lives with his family in the town of Mamaroneck.
Alec Ross served as a Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the duration of her term as Secretary of State, a role created for him that blends technology with diplomacy. As Secretary Clinton's "tech guru," Ross led State Department's efforts to find practical technology solutions for some of the globe's most vexing problems on health care, poverty, human rights and ethnic conflicts, earning him numerous accolades including the Distinguished Honor Award.
Kevin is a veteran technology company advisor, with more than 20 years experience assisting established and growth companies in fulfilling their strategic and financial objectives. He is currently VP Investor Relations, Treasury & Corporate Finance at Cloudera. Kevin also served as VP Corporate and Business Development at Barracuda Networks. Previously, he was a Managing Director in the technology, media and telecommunications investment banking divisions of Credit Suisse, RBC Capital Markets and Wachovia Securities.
Peter brings several decades of business planning experience in the IT and financial service industries to AnchorFree. Before helping launch AnchorFree, Peter had previously held key management positions at Visa International, Remedy, and Continental Savings of America, and had been an independent consultant at numerous IT and financial Bay Area companies. In 1993, Peter also designed and developed as co-founder of Cardinal Technologies, one of the nation’s first major GIS systems for monitoring compliance with federal, savings and loan "fair lending" laws. Currently an adjunct faculty member at CSU East Bay, Peter received a PhD in geography from the University of Michigan in 1981.
Greg Coleman has held executive positions within many of the world’s most influential technology companies. He was formerly the president and chief revenue officer at the Huffington Post and the EVP of global sales at Yahoo. He also served as President of Platform-A at AOL from February to April of 2009. Coleman was previously senior vice president of Reader’s Digest Association and president of U.S. Magazine Publishing. Previously, at CBS, Inc., he spent 10 years leading advertising efforts for Woman’s Day as vice president and national sales manager. Coleman holds a B.S. degree in business administration from Georgetown University and attended the M.B.A. program at New York University.
Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg served as German Federal Minister of Defense and Federal Minister of Economics and Technology in the cabinet of Chancellor Angela Merkel. From 2002 to 2011, Mr. zu Guttenberg was a member of the German Parliament and acted as spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Committee. He is currently the Chairman of Spitzberg Partners, an international advisory and investment firm that focuses on new technologies and geopolitics. Mr. zu guttenberg is a Distinguished Statesman at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a sitting member of several international corporate and non-profit boards.
